Below is the full press release.

“True to his commitments of transparency, accountability and truth to the sovereign people, His Excellency, President Bassirou Diomaye FAYE had asked the Prime Minister to coordinate an exhaustive and meticulous work to draw up an inventory of the situation in the country. This in-depth diagnosis was conducted in parallel with the development of the new economic reference framework, Senegal 2050 – National Transformation Agenda.

This long process, now complete, has made it possible to highlight the reference situation in Senegal, to analyse its consequences and to define the corrective measures necessary to redress and stabilise the situation.

The Government wishes to share these results with the entire nation. To this end, it is organizing a press briefing on Thursday, September 26 at 10:00 a.m., on the 10th floor of the Mamadou DIA administrative building.

This meeting will be an opportunity to present to Senegalese people the conclusions of this rigorous work, the alterations identified, as well as the mitigation measures for this inherited situation.

The press briefing will serve as a prelude to the official launch, on Monday, October 7, 2024, of the Senegal 2050 framework – National Transformation Agenda, a strategic plan for operationalizing the program of His Excellency, President Bassirou Diomaye FAYE, intended to sustainably transform the Senegalese economy and build a sovereign, just and prosperous Senegal. We invite the media, civil society actors and citizens to follow this important meeting which reflects the Government’s commitment to work in the interest of the people, with transparent and responsible management.”
