The media chat held by President Buhari which lasted for hours makes him to deserve to be awarded the honour of being the most media friendly President on the Continent. The questions were incisive and gave him an opportunity to know and address the burning issues of the day. The good thing about open media dialogue is its tendency to bring to the fore what advisers often hesitate to tell their leaders.
This confirms that the media is the most important instrument in ensuring transparency in managing the affairs of a country. Any President who is afraid of the media cannot manage a transparent and accountable government.
There is no doubt that governance in Nigeria could never be the same again. Media Chat should continue to be a part of his presidency in order to know the priority of Nigeria. Other heads of state should emulate the trend.
