Politically Motivated Arrest Should Not Take Place On A Transitional Administration

433

The Constitution provides for freedom of association. This includes freedom of political association. It also guarantees freedom to take part in elections. The duty of all agents of the state is to respect the fundamental rights of all to a secret ballot.

Few weeks before an election the country should not go through politically motivated trials. It does not help the country nor does it serve any government by arresting people and trying them when they have not committed any offence relating violence against a person or the state. The office of the Attorney General should have a director of public prosecutions who should take over any case that is politically motivated and ensure that they are professionally handled in a judicious manner so that there will be no politically motivated trial during this period of presidential election or any other question.
