The office of the Inspector-General of Police wishes to inform the general public, that it will conduct a life firing exercise at the Tintinba Firing Range behind Kanfenda in Foni Kansala, West Coast Region, for Police officers on UN SAAT assessment in preparation for deployment at peacekeeping missions.
Gambia Police Force has indicated in a presser issued on Thursday that the exercise will be conducted on Friday 7th May 2021 at 08:00 hrs onwards.
“In this regard, members of the public particularly residents of Tintiba, Burock, Kanfenda, Dumbuto, Giramba, Darsilami, JomoKunda, and surrounding villages are urged not to panic and should go about their normal businesses,” it stated.
In the same vein, residents within the surroundings of the aforementioned villages of the Firing Range are advised to completely avoid the area for safety reasons.
The Police said they are soliciting the usual cooperation and understanding of the public.
