Police Public Relation Officer (PRO) ASP David Kujabi has confirmed
that the late Ya Binta Jarju was shot death on the night of Saturday, 7 March, at Erinjang/Kotu when the ‘Joint Security Forces’ at the check point in Manjai Kunda pursued a car she boarded.Speaking this reporter at police headquarters in Banjul yesterday,
Monday, 9 March, ASP Kujabi said the matter is now at the Kairaba
Police station where both the driver, one Tapha Manka, a resident of
Latrikunda- Bakadagi, and Sulayman Bah, the young man who is said to
have hired the vehicle, are being held.
ASP Kujabi said investigation on the incident by a joint security
force, including the police, is ongoing.
As we go to press, Foroyaa was informed by a close source that the two
have been transferred to the Serious Crime Unit at police headquarters
in Banjul but cannot be accessed by their families. This reporter will
