Officers of the Anti-crime Unit of the Gambia Police Force from Banjulinding, Brufut and Kotu Stations have recently arrested 26 individuals in a series of raids on criminal hotspots within the Greater Banjul Area (GBA).
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Modou Musa Sisawo, the raids aim to maintain peace and tranquility of communities and neighbourhoods by the Gambia Police Force, particularly within the GBA.
According to ASP Sisawo, the individuals were arrested from various criminal hotspots on offences such as possession of weapons, suspected narcotics and being in possession of stolen properties.
He said the patrol team arrested one Yusupha Baldeh and Saikou Camara, who were transporting stolen goats, while another team in Latriya recovered eight goats and one sheep. He said all the suspects and recovered properties were brought to the ACU’s office in Banjuluding for further investigation.
ASP Sisawo urges the general public to visit the ACU’s base in Banjulnding to potentially identify and reclaim their stolen properties. He also underscored the Unit’s commitment to address theft and ensure community safety from all criminals and their activities.
