The spokesperson of the Gambia Police Force Cadet Assistant Superintendent BintaNjie has confirmed the arrest of a 53-year-old man who was armed with a pistol and was threatening with violence.
According to PRO Njie, the suspect was arrested by the Anti-Crime Unit of the Gambia Police Force on the 15 January 2024 at Dalaba Estate, “and was found in possession of an undocumented or unlicensed pistol”.
She said the alleged suspect is currently under police custody as investigation surrounding the incident continues.
According to the Police PRO, the Gambia PoliceForce urges the general public to report all matters including such to the members of the Police, instead of handling issues at their personal levels, which may potentially disrupt the peace and security of the country.
