Police Arrest Alleged Murderer of Young Driver

The Police on Sunday arrested the alleged murderer of Amadou Jallow, who was stabbed on Friday, 19 July 2024 at Banjulunding Upper and Senior Secondary School premises.

Abdou Kadir Barry was arrested at Tanji village in Kombo South District on Sunday, July 21, 2024.

Cadet Assistant Superintendent Modou Musa Sisawo, the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Gambia Police Force, said they are still investigating the alleged murder incident involving a 20-year-old driver from Kunkujang Keitaya. The victim is called Amadou Jallow.

The alleged incident occurred within the premises of Banjulunding Upper & Senior Secondary School on Friday, 19 July 2024.

“I have not yet received any update. I am sure the police are still on their investigation. The outcome of the investigations will be shared,” he said.

PRO Sisawo said one Abdou Khadir Barry following an altercation reportedly stabbed the victim, AmadouJallow, in the neck. He added thatthe suspect, Barry, fled the scene and is currently at large.

“The investigation is ongoing, and police are making concerted efforts to locate and apprehend the suspect, AbdouKhadir Barry,” he said.

On Friday 19 July 2024, the twenty-year-old driver from Kunkujang Keitaya was alleged to have been stabbed to death by one Abdou Khadir Barry, within the premises of Banjuluding Upper and Senior Secondary School 

The incident, which was reported to the New Yundum Police Station on the same day, saw the arrival of the police at the scene of the crime with urgency.

The Police Public Relation Officer (PRO), ASP Modou Musa Sisawo, urges members of the public especially those within the vicinity of the crime scene and Barry’s neighbours, to share any information that may be helpful for them in their investigations.
