By Mustapha Jallow Deputy Commissioner of Petroleum, Sheriff Faye, has been in detentionSheriff Faye at the National Intelligence Agency (NIA) headquarters in Banjul for two months now without being taken to a court of Law. Mr Sheriff Faye has been held at NIA since 14 July 2015 beyond the 72hours limits mandated by section 19 of the Constitution within which he should be brought before a court or released. It was earlier reported that Mr. Faye was arrested in his office on that fateful day and taken to the NIA office, where he is currently detained. However, a family source indicates that initially the family was allowed access to him at his place of detention but that this was stopped about a week before the end of the Muslim fasting month of Ramadan. “The family no longer has access to him since then,” he added.
