PEOPLE ARE STILL ASKING WHEN THE PRESIDENT WILL APPOINT A VICE PRESIDENT
The burning question of the day is still the issue of vacancy in the office of vice president. Nobody has been sworn in as vice president of the Republic of The Gambia since the president of The Gambia assumed office.
According to section 70 of the Constitution, the vice president is the principal assistant of the president. Hence it is the second most important executive office. It is therefore strange that that office is still not filled and no explanation is been given to the population.
This does not enhance the image of office of the president. It raises questions. So it is important that all those who are in close contact with the president to inform it that the vacancy in the office of vice president does not tell well. He should therefore seal it as soon as possible.
