UK-based Gambian boxer Patrick Mendy learnt few lessons to forget after losing to France-based Cameroonian boxer Hassan Ndam.
The 25-year-old partook in the Euro Boxing Day championships held in Paris. Mendy was against an experienced ring kingpin and though did not come in for an overwhelming punching but got outscored at his game.
The Gambian had been touted to pull off some shocks on the back of his recent stride –winning the WBF super middleweight belt in Poland. But as fate will have it, the up-and-coming starlet was left trailing to Hassan.
The Maiden head-based Gambian has a total of twenty-seven fights winning sixteen out of those and losing ten bouts with a single draw.
Patrick turned professional in 2009 losing his debut clash to Dickinson but soon recovered to scoop his next two contests.
A year later he began to get his crack in the ring participating in the prizefighter –a championship he laid his hands on making him the youngest winner of the title aged 19.
