Parliament To Reconvene on Friday to Deliberate on State of Emergency

The Gambia Parliament will reconvene on Friday, a statement from office of the clerk said. Below is a media statement issued by Parliament.

The Office of the Clerk of the National Assembly wishes to inform the general public that the National Assembly will convene its Second Extra-Ordinary Session in 2020 Legislative Year for the period Friday 15th – Wednesday 20th May, 2020 at 10:00am to consider, among others, the under-mentioned important urgent matters of State:

i. The further Extension of the period of the State of Public Emergency;

ii. The Revised Estimates of Revenue and Expenditure, 2020;

iii. The Supplementary Appropriation Bill, 2020.

The Hon. Attorney General and Minister for Justice and the Hon. Ministers for Finance & Economic Affairs shall table the aforesaid businesses respectively for the consideration of the Assembly.

The Sittings commences at 10:00am prompt. However, due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, the Chambers (sittings) are not opened to the General Public but the proceedings will be broadcast live.
