As he prepares to give way to a new president who will lead the Gambia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) at their Annual General Meeting (AGM) sometime this year, outgoing president, Mr. Edrissa Mass Jobe, has applauded and encouraged the quality of candidates coming forward to contest the seats on the Chamber’s Board, from his social media page.

According to Mr. Jobe, the caliber of nominees coming forward to present themselves for the next board elections reflect the strength, resilience and quality of leadership available within the private sector.

As the outgoing president of the current board, Mr. Jobe assured all members and stakeholders that the Chamber will continue to foster a healthy and competitive environment, but further assured that all elections for the seats on the Chamber’s board, will be conducted in a free, fair and transparent atmosphere, under the supervision of the Advisory board of the Chamber. Mr. Jobe maintained that both the Advisory Board and his humble self, will assert and maintain strict neutrality throughout the process, to safeguard and maintain both the integrity of the elections and the Chamber.

Mr. Jobe said that as one of the oldest and most respected institutions in the country, the GCCI has stood and will always be a beacon for collective leadership and enterprise, and said the future of the Chamber shall remain in capable hands.

Mr. Jobe concluded by urging all members to participate in the upcoming AGM of the Chamber and the election of all those who will present themselves. He finally asserted that the strength of the Chamber lies in the active engagement of its leadership.
