Ousman Jammeh held incommunicado for 91 days

The former Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Ousman Jammeh, is stillOusman Jammeh
being held for 91 days today without  having access to his family,
according to a close source.
Following his removal from the Cabinet, Mr. Jammeh was reported to
have been picked up by men in civilian clothes on Thursday, 15
October, 2015.The source said Mr. Jammeh is held at the National Intelligence
Agency (NIA) Head Office in Banjul where they are not allowed access
to see him or take clothes and food to him.
He said the family is worried about his state of health as they do not
know the condition under which he is being held. He has not changed
clothes since his detention more than three months ago.
“Mr. Jammeh has a young wife and family who are traumatised by his
continued detention,” revealed the source.
None in the family is aware of any charge against him . They do not
know why he is being held this long without access to his family.
They are calling on the authorities to release their loved one to
enable him to reunite with his young family.
Mr. Jammeh’s detention for more than 72 hours contravenes section 19
of the Second Republic’s Constitution (1997) which states that “Any
person who is arrested or detained… who is not released, shall be
brought without undue delay before a court of law and, in any event,
within 72 hours.”
