Ousman Koli and Finnish second tier outfit KPV have gone their separate ways.Ousman Koli

The reason for the two parties parting ways is the result of a failure to agree on a concrete contract. The 27-year-old defender-cum Gambian midfielder was on trial with the Finnish outfit and had given enough impressive performance to be offered a deal.

Talks began between Koli and KPV this month following a month-long testing period before the erstwhile Steve Biko FC skipper chose to look elsewhere.

Dubbed, Dalmart, the former Gambia U-17 champion will now search for a new club prior to the start of the season.

Koli would have been the fourth Gambian in KPV’s books after Dawda Bah, Mathew Mendy and midfielder Yankuba Ceesay.

The Finnish side had hoped to add Koli to bolster their defense ranks after winning promotion from the third division the previous term.

Ousman is a free agent following mutual termination of his contract this year with a club in the Bosnia and Herzegovina premier league.

The stopper who had stints in France, Bangladesh Premier league, Slovenia, Malta, was recently recalled to the Gambia national team starring in the goalless draw against South Africa’s Bafana Bafana.
