The Government spokesperson has issued a statement indicating that one more soldier allegedly involved in a coup plot has been arrested.in a statement issued yesterday noted that,
“one of the soldiers sought for alleged involvement in the foiled coup plot, Corporal Baboucarr Njie of the State Guards Battalion, was apprehended at dusk yesterday [Tuesday] and is currently detained at a secure military location.” This brings the total number of arrestees to five.
The statement added that the search for Badjie and Warrant Officer Class 2 Lamin Jadama continues.
Meanwhile the situation in the country remains calm with people going about their normal business.
