Old Jeshwang pick Volleyball KO cup

Old Jeshwang wriggled out of a fierce battle beating off Armed Forces in a stiff competition to claim the volleyballcoach Alassan Mbye Knockout Cup.

Old Jeshwang, who are league title holders, had a double delight in this campaign shoving off a determined Armed Forces.

Invaluable contribution from Babucarr Jarra inspired a first set win for Old Jeshwang before they made a swoop for the second set again on 25-19 with four-stars Lamin Jarju, Muhammed Jallow, Malick Jammeh and Babucarr Jarra proving meaningful.

The third set saw reinvigorated Armed Forces half the deficit settling for 25-21 win and the fourth on 25-22, forcing a round to the golden (final) set which enabled Old Jeshwang to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat.

The result meant Old Jeshwang clutching double trophies and D5,000 winning prize for the Knockoout Cup and D10,000 for the league

The female side of the Gambia Armed Forces eased past Gamtel/Gamcel to grab both trophies in the women category for the first time ever.

Interior coach Ebrima Nyass was decorated the most discipline coach by Olympafrica center.
