Rumours are rife that oil has been discovered in the Gambia and was waiting for production. This view has been dismissed by the Minister of Petroleum and Energy yesterday in his answer to questions raised by NAMS.
According to the Minister petroleum activities starts with exploration and then development and production. He confirmed that Offshore oil exploration is on and Gambia is at the stage of drilling of wells to try to confirm prospects.
