By Sulayman Bah The National Sports Council has set a registration deadline for May Day Sports participant-hopefuls. The event will be the second edition under government’s purview after taking over from the Gambia National Olympic Committee who‘ve traditionally been the organizers until in 2014.Now under an Organising Committee – a sub body set up by the NSC – deadline for registration has been announced as 15th April with D15, 000 as participation fee. At least sixty institutions are expected to grace the event to be held at the Arch 22 square in Banjul with objectives of according individuals who ordinarily wouldn’t partake in physical exercise to keep fit and enhance passion for sports amongst others. This edition of May Day Mass Sports as part of activities marking the Gambia’s Golden Jubilee will commence with a colourful parade of participating institutions to be led by the National Organising Committee. The sports activities will be preceded by an address by the Hon. Minister of Youth and Sports among other personalities. ]]>
