NOW THAT THE FORMER CHIEF OF SABACH SANJAL IS GONE, WHAT NEXT? THE STAE SHOULD RESPOND

605

The former chief of Sabach Sanjal, Mr Sait Gaye has passed away. He was laid to rest with questions still hanging on his removal. His unceremonious removal by the Barrow administration and the failing to grant him any entitlement after removal reflect the injustices that the country should put behind when it comes to state administration.

There was no cause under the law to remove the chief. It was done on the basis of whims and caprices of state authority. To leave him without any form of gratuity was a mark of total neglect of one who has served state, district and people and deserves state financial protection and recognition by district and people.

We join the family in their mourning of their loved one and call on the state to remember the unfair action perpetrated against him.

Foroyaa will investigate from the ministry whether there is any remorse and any plan for posthumous apology and compensation and a promise never again to perpetrate such administrative lapses in matters of accountability, transparency and good governance.
