A simple matter regarding transparency, accountability and probity is now becoming a complex matter of settling scores. The executive addressed the nation on the matter, the National Assembly is holding an inquiry into the matter and the National Audit Office is also auditing the accounts. Many allegations have been made and many people have gone on air rather than courts in order to seek public opinion. A matter of this magnitude that is occupying the highest offices of the land should be handled by the court of public opinion.
The court of public opinion is what will enable the public to see that justice is done. As the old dictum goes, justice must not only be done but must be seen to be done. All hands should be free to put their case before the court of public opinion in order to finally take this matter to its logical conclusion to ensure that justice is done and is seen to be done.
