New Secretary General, Youth and Sports Minister Sworn in

The newly appointed Secretary General and Head of the Civil Service, Musa Jallow, and the Minster of Youth and Sports, Johnny Gomez, were sworn in on Tuesday, 10 January 2017, according to GRTS television news bulletin.

Mr. Jallow replaces Mr. Sulayman Samba, who was relieved of his duties on 5 January, while Mr. Gomez is replacing Mr. Alieu Jammeh who was removed on Tuesday, 10 January.

The new SG, head of civil service and minister for presidential affairs is said to be a civil engineer with experience in management and governance.

As for the new youth and sports minister, he is the current president of the Gambia Cricket Association.

The swearing in ceremony was presided over by the Outgoing President Yahya Jammeh in the presence of the vice president and other cabinet ministers.
