NDMA Gets New Executive Director

Reports reaching Foroyaa have it that Mr Sanna Dahaba, has been appointed Executive Director of the National Disaster Management Agency (NDMA). His appointment took effect from Wednesday 27th September 2017.

Dahaba, who previously served as the Deputy Chief Executive Secretary of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Secretariat (ADRS), has a wide range of knowledge on pro-poor development programmes, project management and administration. He has once worked with the European Development Fund on decentralization and governance issues, coordinated the DFID funded Legal Capacity Building project and served as Permanent Secretary at the Office of the President, Ministry of Health and Ministry of Agriculture respectively. Dahaba has also worked closely with communities in identifying development needs and prepared project proposals and budgets for technical support to community-based projects.

Dahaba holds a Master’s degree in Project Planning and Management from the University of Bradford in the UK. Whilst in the UK, he served as Principal of Yorkshire College, responsible for the day-to-day management of the College and the planning and implementation of academic programmes.

When contacted, Sanna Dahaba confirmed his appointment to this paper, and commended Government for the trust and confidence bestowed on him, noting that he would strive to live up to expectations.
