A young man who is suspected to have murdered one Badou Kebbeh in Nema Jola-Kunda, has been arrested by 
investigators at Kaolack, Senegal last week, and handed over to the police in The Gambia, police say.
Inspector Foday Conta, the spokesperson of Police said the incident occurred on the 23 April 2017, when the suspect Mustapha Gaye allegedly stabbed and killed Badou with a knife is under the police net.
“Since then Mustapha Gaye was on the run and investigations revealed that he escaped into Senegal through the porous borders of Jarra Soma. The Gambia Police Force were working tirelessly with her counterparts in the sister Republic of Senegal to bring him to justice,” he said.
PRO Conta added that last week the intelligence network between the GPF and the Senegalese Police spotted and arrested the suspect in Kaolack Senegal. “His repatriation was made possible due to the efforts and close collaboration between the GPF, Senegalese Police and the Embassies of the two sister countries,” he explained.
GPF spokesperson further said that investigation had also revealed that the suspect’s real name is Alhagi Gaye not Mustapha and his address is Mayamba in the North Bank Region instead of Kaolack as was reported earlier.
At this point, he said Alhagi Gaye (Mustapha Gaye) is under Police custody and currently helping the investigators.
