Former Wallidan playmaker Modou lamin Sillah has signed a new contract with Umea in a deal running untilsillah 2018, Foroyaa Sport can report.

Modou Lamin has been a crucial nut in third tier outfit Umea’s daring race to the league, helping seal firmly the back-four in quest for promotion. Though the side will retry after missing out on promotion this concluded season, Umea’s impressive showings cannot be detailed without mention of the Gambian’s contribution.

Sillah has been the most consistent performer for the club and suitors unsurprisingly queued up for his services immediately it became clear his contract was on the brink of expiry.

But aware of the man mountain he’s, having been converted from his natural central midfielder role to a rocky defender, Umea moved quickly to lock into negotiations with the scorpion’s agent, a process of which panned out well leading to the Gambian signing a revised contract.

Though how much of a figure he should receive remains undisclosed ,as per club policy, Modou Lamin, who scored Gambia’s fastest goal in the friendly 1-0 win over Sierra Leone in 2008, is  much rated.

The 26-year-old has played a total of eighty-one matches, seventy-five of those as a starter in the four seasons he’s spent with the Swedish third tier outfit. Last season, he featured nineteen times, all as a starter, scoring and getting booked only two times.
