Metta Njie, the mother of the late Lieutenant Colonel Lamin
Sanneh, the former Commanding Officer at State House who was killed
during the 30th December, 2014 attack on state house, has not been
seen by her family for 57 days today, according to family sources. The relatives are very concerned that Meta’s whereabouts are still not
known to them following her arrest on the 1st January, 2015. They are
appealing for her release.
Lt. Col. Sanneh’s mother was picked up by men who claimed to be
working for the National Intelligence Agency (NIA) at her residence in
Fajikunda Dumos on New Year’s Day. Since then, the family has not seen
or heard from her.
“We are renewing our call on the authorities to release our relative.
Her arrest and continuous incommunicado detention is traumatizing our
family as she has been its pillar,” said a close relative.]]>
