Mauritanian Regulators Visit Gambian Counterparts

A two-man delegation of Mauritanian regulators from Autorité de Regulation Mauritanien, last Wednesday, 25 October visited their Gambian counterparts at PURA Headquarters along Kairaba Avenue. The Mauritanian delegation includes Maham Abdallahi, a board member of Autorité de Regulation Mauritanien, and Zamel Mohamed Mahoud, Head of Networks and Services of the same institution. 

According to the head of the delegation, the visit to PURA is to learn about the Quality of Service delivery and other regulatory matters from their Gambian counterparts.

The visiting delegation expressed delight at the opportunity to visit PURA, to enhance their understanding of regulatory-related works and how to improve such quality service delivery in their own country. They also showed gratitude and appreciation to PURA Management for the warm reception accorded them.

In his welcoming remarks, Yusupha M. Jobe, the Director of PURA, emphasized the existing cordial and long-standing relationship between the two countries and encouraged the visiting delegation to feel at home and make best use of their visit, assuring them of PURA’s support and cooperation. The Mauritanian delegation was introduced to PURA’s mandate and its strategic functions, and presentations and site visits were conducted for the delegation, to provide them with insights into the equipment and tools used for maintaining the quality-of-service standards delivered by PURA in the Gambia.

On their part, the head of the Mauritanian delegation said their visit as a regulatory authority from Mauritania, is part of a study tour they are conducting in The Gambia, in order to familiarise themselves with quality-of-service standards provided by PURA.
