One Saikouba Drammeh was stabbed to death at a discotheque on Saturday, 21 October 2023, in Dampha kunda, Tumanna District, Upper River Region (URR).
According to the source, Saikouba was allegedly stabbed by one Bubacarr Bahaga, a native of Tinkinjo during a dispute between between Saikouba (deceased) and the youth of Tinkinjo.
An eyewitness explained that there was a dispute between Saikouba and some youth of Tinkinjo, who met him at a discotheque in Dampha Kunda. He continued to say the misunderstanding degenerated into a brawl.
‘Bubacarr (the alleged suspect) stabbed the deceased on his chest,” another source told Foroyaa.
The deceased was rushed to the Edward Francis Small Teaching Hospital in Banjul while the alleged killer was arrested and detained.
The police have confirmed the alleged incident saying the alleged killer was arrested.
“I can confirm that one Saikou Drammeh was stabbed to death and the alleged killer has been arrested and he is helping police in their investigation,” the spokesperson of the Gambia Police Force said.
