Man Charged for Possession of Restricted Medicines

Abdoulie Jobe, a Gambian man in his early thirties, appeared on Monday, August 18, before Magistrate I. Jallow of the Brusubi Court on charges of possessing restricted medicines without lawful permission.

The prosecuting officer, Inspector Faye, presented the case. Mr. Jobe, who was unrepresented, accepted the charge after it was read to him in court and pleaded guilty. Magistrate Jallow then entered the plea of guilty on his behalf.

The statement of offence reads: “Found in possession of restricted medicines without lawful authority contrary to Section 59 (1) (e) of the Medicines and Related Product Act 2014.”

According to the particulars of the offence, on June 26, 2025, at Old Yundum in Kombo North, West Coast Region, Mr. Jobe was found in possession of medicines on unauthorized premises and without a license, thereby committing an offence under the law.

The matter has been adjourned to August 25, 2025, for presentation of facts by Inspector Faye.
