Mambury Njie, a former government Minister of Finance and
Economic Affairs, is said to be still hospitalized and under guard by
the National Intelligence Agency (NIA) at the Serekunda General
Hospital since on 28 November, 2014, family sources reveal.According to family sources Mr Njie has been detained for 4 months and
29 days now without being released or granted bail. The reason(s) for
his arrest, detention are still not explained to them by the said
authorities.
The family members say they are allowed access and to take food to him
at Serekunda Hospital.
They concluded by appealing to the authorities to release him and save his life.
Readers would recall he was arrested by the state operatives around
9am at his residence in Brusubi on Thursday, 9 October 2014, and then
taken to the NIA detention centre in Banjul.
