By Mustapha Jallow It is now eighty-seven (87) days since members of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), whisked away and detained erstwhile Lieutenant Colonel Solo Bojang, a former Manager of Kanilai Family Farms (KFF) and Commanding Officer at the State Guards in Kanilai. Before his latest arrest, Lt Col. Bojang was standing trial on four criminal cases, including giving false information to a public servant and abuse of office. He was acquitted and discharged by the Brikama Magistrates’ Court presided over by Dayoh M. Small Dago on three cases, but fined D50,000 on one count which has been paid. When the verdict was announced in court, the prosecutor did not announce its intention to appeal the decision of the subordinate court. Moments after his acquittal and discharge Lt. Col. Bojang was whisked away in a tinted glass vehicle with a numberless number plate. He was escorted by plain clothes officers, leaving his family and well wishers in a state of desperateness. “His twins have been sick for two weeks now and their condition is worsening,” said a desperate family member. The family members call on the head of state to intervene and facilitate the release of their loved one. ]]>
