Mrs. Metta Njie, the mother of Lieutenant Colonel Lamin Sanneh, the former Commanding Officer of the State Guards, who is also alleged to be among the insurgents who attacked the state house on 30 December, last year, has not been seen by her family for 26 days now (today) since she was picked up at her residence in Fajikunda Dumos.
A family source indicated that since she was arrested on New Year ’s Day by men who identified themselves as operatives of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), they have not set eyes on her and do not also know her whereabouts.
“We are renewing our call on the authorities to release our relative. We have been traumatized by her disappearance because she is aging and plays a crucial role in the family as the head,” added the source.
