Lamin Fatajo & Co Deny Any Wrong Doing

By Rohey Jadama Lamin Fatajo, former Project Coordinator of the Rural Finance Project, Muhammed Lamin Mass, former Lamin Fatajoacting Finance and Administrative Manager of the same project, and Madam Ada Gaye, erstwhile Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, yesterday, 18 June, pleaded not guilty to 11 counts they are charged with before Justice Simeon Ateh Abi of the Banjul High Court The charges include ‘Abuse of Office’, ‘Neglect of official duty’, ‘Economic Crime’, ‘Disobedience to Statutory’, among others. The state was represented by A. Adiayemi while Lawyers Edward Singhatey and Borry S. Touray announced their appearance for the 1st and 2nd accused persons and Sheriff SM Tambedou represented the 3rd accused. B S. Touray told the court that he had applied to be served with the cautionary statement of the accused persons and that his learned friend (prosecutor) promised to serve him, but is yet to do so. At this stage, the prosecutor was seen giving him a copy in court. However, Lawyer Touray told the court that the copies he was served with are not readable. He, therefore, applied for an adjournment for him to be served and which was granted by the court. The case was adjourned to 14th July at 1:30pm for hearing.  ]]>
