Lamin expected to leave for Leeds marathon this week

Sanneh is set to participate in Leeds half marathon and was due to fly out yesterday for the event billed in West Yorkshire, but the runner could not make the departure date. His failure to leave on time raised concerns from followers of the ace prompting this paper’s findings. It emerged that Lamin –who was a member of Gambia’s team sent to Scotland ahead of the Commonwealth Games slated for Glasgow this year before the country’s withdrawal from the occasion – date of departure has been pushed to this Friday, two days to the official start of the Leeds race. The cause of the sudden change is as a result of organizers idea for Lamin to move along with Mariama T. Jallow, his female counterpart who will be joining the departing team on Friday. Gambia’s promising long distance runner Lamin sealed a place into the famous UK marathon finishing first in the 10km Bajana road run, an event facilitated by Gambia Volunteers Trust. Considered one of the brightest prospects in long distance races in the country, this will be the second time the ace is taking part in UK races with his first attempts being in the Sheffield and Edinburg marathons.  ]]>
