After having spent 9 days in incommunicado detention by the military police in Bakau barracks, Kebba Sanneh of Bakau was 
finally released on Sunday, 1 January, 2017 around 1pm, according to his mother.
Fatou Janneh said her son was released and brought home by one Njundu Drammeh, the National Coordinator of Child Protection Alliance (CPA), and a senior soldier in mufti.
She told this reporter on the phone yesterday that her son was at home resting as he was ill while in detention and is now convalescing.
It could be recalled that on 29 December, 2016, Kebba’s mother walked into Foroyaa’s office in despair to report the detention of her son for six days. She disclosed that the son was picked up on while attending a musical performance at the Independence Stadium in Bakau. She explained that she was told that her son had an altercation with someone who was purported to be a senior military officer in mufti and was eventually arrested by the Police Intervention Unit (PIU) and handed over to the Military Police.
She also told Foroyaa that they were not allowed access to see his son while in detention despite several unsuccessful attempts.
