Jabel Gai, alias Jabez, a Gambian music producer, graphic designer, dancehall and RnB singer residing in Kanifing Estate, 
recorded his first debut song in 2006 entitled ‘’Element of surprise’’.
The young upcoming star, a producer and an artiste has produced a lot of artistes and has been working with various artistes both local and international. Jabez explains to Foroyaa Art and Culture about his upcoming mix tape release.
‘’My upcoming mix tape entitled ‘’Depression’’ a 17 track debut release will be officially celebrated on Friday 27 November, 2015 at Alliance Francaise. The songs are produced in different music genres like dancehall, Afro beat and RnB.
The Planet bi Studio and the New Money, a music record label based in England will be the host organizers of the official release. The debut mix tape means a lot as most of the songs talk about depression issues, especially jobless youths, unemployment rate, frustrations, war and crimes etc. The ‘’Depression’’ music video has been finally released and produced by New Money in England.’
Jabez has released couple of hit songs for promotions, such as ‘My Heart desire’, Beautiful you are, ‘keep the fire burning’, ‘My Life and Feel me’ now featuring Og Log.
Jabez produced mix and mastered the whole mix tape project.
He said, he would be doing semi live performances and has invited various Gambian talents to perform on the launching day. The singer briefly said that his dreams are to take Gambian music to the international music arena and support those with talent, in contributing to national development.
The singer who was inspired by Bob Marley also calls on the general public to support and contribute to the development of his mix tape release.
