QUESTION OF THE DAY
The answer is in the positive. With the peaceful transfer of power the state has its closure. However the sufferers are yet to have their own closure either because of lack of evidence to apportion or to identify perpetrators or because of the inaccessibility of the perpetrator.
As brave people come forth to explain what they did rather than apportion blame on others credible evidence will be gathered and lessons drawn to give the nation a new start. The focus should be to give closure to the sufferers and give the nation a new start.
This paper will continue to remind Gambians that there was a peaceful transfer of power. Inclusiveness is what will enable us to transform that peaceful transfer of power into a dividend that would enable us to build a democratic country where power will never be transferred again through the barrel of the gun or Arab Spring.
