The Media is witnessing a new engagement with the National Assembly Committees commencing their oversight functions. It is now clear that the National Assembly is responsible for ensuring transparency and accountability in the work of Government.
The state media in particular and the non-state media in general should now focus on publishing and broadcasting the proceedings of the Committees of the National Assembly. This will enable the people to know the value of the National Assembly. Gambia appears to be heading towards interesting times. All should take keen interest and follow how our public institutions operate.
