Is the IEC ready for National Assembly elections?
The IEC did publish the election calendar and promised to conduct national assembly elections on 6 April.
Nomination day commences on the 9th March and ends on 12 March. The campaign period will last from 15th March to 4th April.
The Gambian people have the choice to transform the National Assembly into a true oversight institution that would scrutinise and ensure that public services are rendered with efficiency to the fullest satisfaction of the people or a rubberstamp institution where members go and chat like a bantaba.
