The Gambia is yet to fully assess the fullest potential of its airport, seaports and bridges. However, investors are coming in without proper guidance on how to ensure a win-win partnership.

The Gambian people are informed that ten companies showed interest. Now there is no provision to indicate how bids are assessed and evaluated on the basis of merit. Building port facilities is not an easy enterprise. It is anticipated that national conversations on the protection of sovereign assets will continue so that decisions taken will be based on facts and the national interest.
