Is Government Monitoring The Coastline?

QUESTION OF THE DAY

The unseasonal downpours are making residences built on wetlands in the KM area very unsuitable to live in. This confirms a failure in fiscal planning for five decades. The Barrow administration should give priority to environmental impact assessment before any factory is established on wetlands.

Heavy buildings on wetlands could only invite self-made disaster. The persistent heavy downpour of rain in October is un-seasonal and those monitoring the weather should begin to focus on developments so as not to be caught by surprise. Disaster unpreparedness is a major cause of loss of life and property in coastal areas.
