The month of November is coming to a close and farmers are yet to know how much they could get for their crops particularly groundnut. In fact, the best incentive for crop production is to reveal prices before the beginning of the cropping season. Should they fail to know the price until the season starts in neighbouring countries, farmers claim that middlemen could take advantage of the situation and buy their crops and transport them across the border for sale at higher profit. A good domestic price would motivate farmers to wait to sell their crops in their own country with ease. ASPA was established to bring buyers together to strategize on how much the crop would be bought and thus encourage farmers to know the potential of the market in absorbing the anticipated supply.
