Innovarx Global Health, through the intervention of the National Assembly Member for Banjul North Constituency, Honourable Modou Lamin B Bah has over the weekend provided free medical health services for the residents of Banjul North.

The two days of free health care services avail the residents of Banjul North especially the elderly people opportunity to test their blood sugar level among other illnesses.

For the first time the people of Banjul North are benefiting from free preventive health screening, this according to Honourable Bah, is designed to bring health care services to the doorstep of his people as it is a priority to him.

“As the Vice Chairperson of the health committee of the National Assembly, I want to serve as an example so that other NAMs can emulate and provide such free healthcare service to their people,” he said.

Honourable Bah said some illnesses are manageable and can be controlled if the person affected is aware of the gravity of the illness.

“We have some elderly people in our community who are living with some health issues but they don’t know their status, but with these services, they will be able to know their status,” he said.

He urged other members to do the same to save lives in their constituencies.

Madam Batty Gomez, the head of logistics at Innovarx Global Health, said her institution is ready to provide healthcare services to people across the country.

“We are ready to partner with individuals or institutions to save lives. We help people to know their health status, and to know how to manage existing health issues if they are having them,” she said.

Madam Gomez said health is wealth, and a healthy community is a wealthy one. Therefore, she encouraged those tested to take the advice given to them by the healthcare personnel and live accordingly.

Mrs Mariama Faye, a resident of Tobacco Road, Banjul North, said the people of Banjul have never enjoyed such privilege in the past.

“This is the first time in history that someone is providing such services to us free of charge. Some of us have never gone through any form of medical screening, this is because it is very expensive,” she said.

She commended Honourable Bah for bringing such services to their doorsteps.
