IEC Confirms Nomination of 3 Presidential Candidates

The Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) has issued a press release on the declaration of the results of nomination of 3IEC Chairman Alieu Momar Njie candidates for the presidential election on 1 December 2016.

According to the release, the IEC is giving notice that three persons approved by the Returning Officer, Alieu Momar Njai, have been “deemed to be duly nominated to contest the election for the office of the President of the Republic of The Gambia.”

The three are Mamma Kandeh nominated by GDC with the colour purple and symbol being an open calabash in two palms, Adama Barrow, Independent Candidate, with grey as his colour and symbol being the right hand with the index finger pointing upwards and Yahya A.J.J. Jammeh, nominated by the APRC with the colour green and the symbol being a palm tree with a hoe and paddle.
