Gambian international footballer Ibou Touray has helped his team secure a decisive 4-1 win away last Thursday at Grimsby Town and ended the club’s 2022 unbeaten in their last five matches.

Touray who plays as a left back for EFL League Two club Salford City assisted Matt Smith barely a minute into the game with a swing cross in from the left.

Smith got in front of his marker to sweep into the bottom left-hand corner to make it one nil. He would later score two more goals to have a hat-trick which made him the club’s top scorer with five goals yet.

Ethan Galbraith scored the second goal in the 30th minute after Otis Khan equalised in the 21st minute for Grimsby Town. Smith made it three in the 34th minute before completing his hat-trick five minutes before half-time.

Salford City occupy eighth in the league table with 35 points out of 22 matches. Their next match is away at Bradford City (who are one point ahead of them) on New Year’s Day.
