QUESTION OF THE DAY

The Chinese Government donated rice to the Gambia Government for distribution to the population. A first batch of 1308 tonnes (26160 bags) of rice was delivered to the government on 30 June 2017. What Foroyaa knows is that out of this 100 bags were given to Tanka Tanka Psychiatric Clinic. What is not yet known is how the remaining 26,000 bags of rice were distributed. Was distribution done through the governors? If so how many bags did each receive? Has the second batch of rice been received? What is its tonnage?

The Minister of Agriculture, had said when receiving the rice that it will be distributed free of charge throughout the seven regions to the less privileged.

Foroyaa will continue to monitor the situation and will accordingly inform our readers as soon as we have answers.
