QUESTION OF THE DAY
The Minister of Finance told deputies that the Ministry of Works and Infrastructure has spent 73 percent of its approved budget as of end April 2020 amounting to 478 Million Dalasis. Over 400 Million went to Finance the Banjul Rehabilitation Project . This brings into question whether pre-financing development projects for Government is not the new way of introducing tied short term loans that could strangulate national budgets especially when revenue drops .The Minister made it categorically clear that his Ministry would never enter into such pre-financing arrangement again. The future will tell. Foroyaa will be around to give the reports.
