QUESTION OF THE DAY
HOW FAR HAVE THE COALITION TALKS GONE?
The meeting of the presidential candidates in the opposition camp did take place at Kairaba Beach Hotel. It is gathered the GDC was not represented at the talks but sent observers to witness the talks. Foroyaa will find out what is responsible for the GDC’s lack of representation after its deputy party leader made it clear to Foroyaa that his party fully supports the talks.
Three presidential candidates were present in person; namely, Dr Lamin Bojang, Dr Isatou Touray and Halifa Sallah. Mr Adama Barrow was represented by Mr Alhaji Darboe; Hon. Hamat Bah was represented by Mr Musa Sonko. Each candidate is reported to have presented their coalition options. They are now to formulate it and present each option to the representatives of all the political parties at a GOFER meeting to be held on Friday, 7 October 2016.
Foroyaa is calling on GOFER to open its meeting to the media so that the option of each candidate and consensus reached will be known to the public. Transparency in the discussion will be helpful to the process.
