The Minister of Trade, Industry, Regional Integration and Employment, in answer to questions posed by Foroyaa, said the following is part of the Memorandum signed by Spain and The Gambia:
- The first step is for the Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration of Spain to identify job openings in Spain that require labour from The Gambia.
- The Ministry in Spain would convey the jobs available to the Ministry of Trade, Industry, Regional Integration and Employment.
- The Ministry of Trade will forward the job openings to the Labour Department for recruitment.
- The Labour Department is responsible for initiating and controlling recruitment for onward transmission to the Ministry to be transmitted to Spain
Foroyaa will contact the Labour Department to see whether there is any subsidiary legislation on how it is to conduct job openings and allow all those who are qualified to be considered with fairness, transparency and probity in the recruitment exercise.
Foroyaa will also find out from the Labour Department the level of preparation and the stage of implementation of the project.
