Foroyaa has reliably learnt that apart from teachers involved in the television and radio programmes the vast majority of teachers are now siting without any programme to make them useful. Some teachers in the private schools are being told that their salaries could be at risk if parents fail to pay the sums due to sponsor their children unless government steps in to assist. The GTU will be contacted to find out whether it is preparing a programme to enable teachers to have an online training programme to upgrade themselves as they sit at home due to COVID 19 and further inquire whether they have initiated contact with teachers who may be at risk of not receiving their salary if the lockdown of schools remain.
